The EP Carrillo Short Run Series dates back to 2009, when Carrillo was just starting to venture back into the cigar industry after selling his La Gloria Cubana brand to General Cigar Company. Short Run actually predates all of Carrillo’s regular production brands.
After 2009’s release, Carrillo brought Short Run back annually between 2011 and 2016.
Five years later, Short Run is back for 2021 with the limited edition Retro 2021 in three sizes — Short Play (5×50), Extended Play (6×52) and Long Play (6×60).

Retro 2021 starts with earthy notes, joined by what will be an ever present toastiness. As the cigar develops, the earth and toast are joined by pecan, bread and an ever so slight hint of black pepper. Around the midpoint, you’ll find some floral notes stand out. If one word was used to describe this cigar, it would have to be TOASTY!
