ROCKY PATEL SIXTY

Rocky Patel loves to celebrate birthdays, milestones and anniversaries of any kind. So, when he turned 60 years old in 2021, nobody was surprised that Patel thought a new cigar was in order. In reality, he had been thinking about a 60th birthday project for quite some time.

Sixty by Rocky Patel

Made in Nicaragua at his Tavicusa factory, the cigar is composed of Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos wrapped in a dark Mexican wrapper leaf from the San Andrés region. While this combination of tobaccos isn’t particularly uncommon, two years of aging after being rolled gives these cigars a cohesive elegance and refinement that’s unlike anything the company has ever released. The 6×60 Sixty rated 96 and was the top non-Cuban cigar (#2 worldwide) in 2022, according to Cigar Aficionado.

Available in three sizes — Robusto, Toro and Gordo (aka 6×60) –The Sixty resembles a chocolate bar, with the highly rated 6×60 specifically taking advantage of the extra girth, loaded with bold Nicaraguan tobaccos that lay down a foundation of leather and wood. The cigar continues to build in flavor with tasty layers of coffee, walnut and a ground red pepper spiciness. This cigar doesn’t just represent Patel’s six decades on earth, but also demonstrates how he’s developed as a cigarmaker and how his understanding of raw materials continues to evolve.
