Villiger Cuellar Black Forest

Villiger Cigars can trace their history back to 1888, when Jean & Louise Villiger first started cigar production out of their home in Pfeffikon, Switzerland. Through the destruction of two World Wars, sponsorship of a winning Formula One team and even the addition of the manufacture and sale of Villiger bicycles, generation after generation of the Villiger family have been at the helm of the company.

In 1998, Villiger, which was solidly known for their small machine made and hand rolled products throughout Europe and International markets around the globe, expanded into the Premium cigar market and in 2002, Villiger entered the North American market. The company continues to serve both markets that allow Cuban tobacco and the US, where Cuban tobacco is prohibited.

Villiger’s current Chairman, Heinrich Villiger grew up near Germany’s majestic Black Forest. To pay homage to the region’s legendary beauty, the brand created Villiger Cuellar Black Forest while the “Cuellar” in Cuellar Black Forest is named after Diego Velazquez de Cuellar, the first Spaniard governor of Cuba.
