UPCOMING RELEASES FROM MIAMI CIGAR & LA AURORA

La Aurora ADN DominicanoMiami Cigar / La Aurora has released a Cameroon wrapped cigar in their value priced Time Capsule Series. This blend commemorates the year La Aurora opened — 1903. The 1903 Cameroon joins the 1987 Connecticut and 1962 Corojo.

Several months ago, I got to sample a La Aurora cigar that really wasn’t on their US product release schedule for 2017. The La Aurora ADN Dominicano (Spanish for DNA) came out at the ProCigar Festival in February. What makes it interesting is that it utilizes an Andullo aging process.

Rather than hanging in the tobacco barns to age and dry, the tobacco is placed into long cylindrical pods known as yaguas. They are then stacked on top of one another and rotated while the tobacco processes. Andullo tobacco is commonly found in pipe tobacco, but is generally a rarity for cigars.

ADN Dominicano, uses a Dominican wrapper from the Cibao Valley, a Cameroon binder and four filler tobaccos: Dominican from the Cibao Valley, Nicaraguan, Pennsylvania and Dominican Andullo.

La Aurora’s original plan was to just sell ADN in the Dominican market, bypassing the US. However, at the urging of all those that got a chance to sample the new cigar, it has been added to this summer’s release schedule and we’ll have a nice supply available toward the end of July.

Other BIG NEWS from La Aurora is the addition of the RUBY, GOLD and PLATINUM Preferidos blends to the Robusto and Toro offerings of SAPPHIRE, EMERALD and DIAMOND. This brings all six of their “Treasure Chest” super premium blends into a much more affordable format.
