With the help of Privada Cigar Club, the tastemakers behind our monthly LCA (Limited Cigar Association) releases, we’re unlocking a deeper kind of cigar experience at Chesapeake Pipe & Cigar. Privada is known for hunting down rare cigars with genuine stories, aging them properly, and curating releases from some of the finest manufacturers in the world. This isn’t about piling up more inventory. It’s about discovering cigars most smokers would never encounter on their own.
While Privada ships monthly packs direct to consumers, we’re making it easier than ever to get in on the action. Every month, we’ll bring in that month’s Rare Cigar 3-Pack right here at Chesapeake. These aren’t ordinary shelf cigars. They’re hard-to-find treasures, sealed in humidified Fresh Packs and paired with detailed note cards that reveal the blend, background, and story behind each smoke.
Then we turn discovery into an event. Every Wednesday evening at 6:30 PM, we launch Cigar Discovery Wednesday. One cigar from the monthly 3-Pack takes center stage as we light up together, compare notes, and explore what makes each release special. If holidays or major events interrupt the schedule, we’ll simply resume the hunt the following week. And when there’s no Privada release in rotation, we’ll fill the gap with rare finds, sleeper hits, and hidden gems we’ve tracked down ourselves.
Leading the tasting is longtime member “New England” Dave Manfredi, a man whose palate borders on the supernatural. While most people can say a cigar is “good” or “not good,” Dave can isolate subtle nuances, uncover layers of flavor, and describe them with remarkable precision. It’s part tasting, part education, part performance.
After we evaluate the cigar on our own terms, we’ll crack open the official Privada notes and see how our impressions compare. Did we catch the same flavors? Did the cigar exceed the hype? There’s only one way to find out.
The cost for each month’s Privada Rare Cigar 3-Pack is $32.89 (Maryland cigar taxes included). Because these packs are limited, we appreciate advance notice if you’d like to participate so we can secure the right quantity.
