La Aurora, the Dominican Republic’s oldest cigar factory, has just released two new cigars that we’re very excited about — La Aurora 1961 and La Aurora 1987.
La Aurora 1961
The 1961 features a Dominican corojo wrapper over an Ecuadorian binder and fillers from the Cibao Valley in the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. These tobaccos come together to produce a medium bodied experience at the start, layered with notes of earth, spices, cedar and a hint of raisin on the finish. As the cigar progresses, the spice intensifies and the body ramps up to medium to full.
La Aurora 1987
A Connecticut shade grown wrapper, Dominican binders and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua come together to make the La Aurora 1987. The cigar begins on the mild side and reminds you of a creamy latte with subtle hints of coffee and cream. Throughout the experience, notes of milk chocolate and nutmeg develop and join the coffee and cream to produce a mild to medium smooth finish.
