As surely as the winter winds return to rattle the panes, as surely as holly finds its way above the hearth and Christmas cheer gathers wherever good fellows gather, Savinelli’s St. Nicholas has come round once more, bearing its annual gift for the pipe smoker and making a particularly splendid appearance for 2026.
And splendidly attired it is!
Each of these limited-edition pipes wears a deep burgundy rustication, wonderfully cragged and richly textured, so deftly fashioned that even a practiced eye might, upon first acquaintance, declare it sandblasted. Around the shank sits a band of the merriest Christmas red, bordered on either side by bright metallic accents that catch the light with all the cheerful sparkle of ornaments upon a well-dressed tree. From there emerges a stem of jewel-toned green acrylic, deep and lustrous, completing a palette so thoroughly possessed of the season that one half expects to hear sleigh bells upon taking it in hand.
Burgundy, iridescent holly green, merry red and flashes of bright metal all conspire together in a little riot of Christmas finery.
It is a pipe dressed not merely for smoking, but for Christmas itself: warm, handsome, cheerful and gloriously festive, as though St. Nicholas had visited Savinelli’s workshop in person and left a little of the season behind.
