Celebrating NASA’s historic return to the moon, we welcome Fratello’s THE LUNAR line of limited edition cigars.
Fratello founder, Omar de Frias, is a former NASA project manager. When Intuitive Machines, a leading participant in the NOVA-C Lunar Lander project, approached de Frias about creating a special cigar that commemorates the NOVA-C launch, Fratello was more than willing to take on the task.
THE LUNAR cigar project brings us three new limited production premium cigars — the super premium Dominican Puro 6×60 Figurado, a Connecticut wrapped 6×50 Toro and a Cameroon wrapped 6×50 Toro.
Initial product information stated that Fratello was releasing 175 of the 18 count Fratello IM-1 Replica Lander Humidors, although labeling on the actual humidor indicates that there are 200 of these units available worldwide. The simple math puts the total count of THE LUNAR Dominican Puro Figurados a between 3,150 and 3,600 (depending on the actual units released.) According to our local Fratello Sales Representative, Crystal Herbert, there will be no additional production of the Dominican Puro Figurado.
The Connecticut and Cameroon Toros are limited in production, but will continue to be produced for the foreseeable future. These Toros come packed 15 to a box in replica NOVA-C Lander packaging. (An exciting point of interest in this project is that the Fratello Cigar logo will actually be affixed to the real NOVA-C lander that goes to the moon for the IM-1 mission.)
Fratello also reports that the current release of THE LUNAR is only the first leg of a more expansive project that will honor future lander missions.
